MORTAR and PESTLE
The bowl of this clear glass MORTAR holds four ounces
according to the embossed lettering at the bottom,
and this you may see below . . .
Note that the set was MADE IN U.S.A.
The top of the PESTLE is polished where it was separated from the punty,
indicating that it was handmade, rather than molded.
A punty is a long metal rod on which fire-melted glass
is worked and turned while being shaped for intended use.
The horizontal line which you may see across the Pestle
just above the rim of the Mortar (in the first picture)
is not a crack or damage . . . just the reflection of the rim.
The little black specks (in the second picture)
are not in or part of the glass;
speckled paper was used as a background, hmmm.
